HIFU – High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Facial
This treatment is recommended for as a non invasive alternative to a face lift and has some of the benefits. It is highly recommended for its tightening, anti aging and firming benefits.
How does HIFU work?
It uses a high intensity ultrasound to penetrate the deeper Dermis right down to the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) causing thermal trauma to the tissues in order to make the skin go into repair mode. This action will encourage the skin to create new and stronger collagen fibres in the deeper layers of skin. This will result in brighter and firmer feeling skin.
Who does it work for?
The ideal candidate for HIFU would be over 30 years of age and showing the early signs of natural aging. For more mature clients this treatment is also highly recommended provided the skin is not showing the advanced effects of photo (sun) aging.
How does it feel?
You may feel some warmth in the skin during the treatment and sometimes an aching sensation around the jawline which can be mildly uncomfortable but will disappear after anything from a few hours to a few days. It is not painful!
How long does it last?
Owing to the intensity of the treatment the results begin to show at around 30 days and they reach optimum by around 90 days then lasting up to 9-12 months. You would not repeat the treatment before 9 months and would ideally repeat it after 12 months.
Is there down time?
No- you can resume normal life immediately after the treatment.
However we would always recommend to wear a high SPF following the treatment and to avoid high impact exercise or massage to the area for around a week to allow the first stage of recovery to take place.
How long does it take?
With full consultation and a patch test we allow 2 hours for the treatment.
How much does it normally cost?
